weekend snapshot #3

Last Sunday, hubby and I woke up at 11am. Very unusual for us, as our Sundays usually start early by strolling to the park/playground or hubby playing baseball/or soccer with Ethan at the backyard. The reason for waking up late was that we got so puyat and tired from looking at a gazillion of apartments online for almost 7 hours! Usually, Ethan would wake us up by shouting a very loud: "GOOD MORNING! HERE COMES SUNSHINE!" and he would open up the blinds in the bedroom, the bright sun is definitely an effective wake up alarm for us. Last Sunday was different, we woke up with this, my weekend snapshot.
He was already playing silently with his building blocks and told us that the big house he made was the house of mamy tata (my mom) in the Philippines or "pipins" for him. We asked him what the lined small blocks were, he gladly answered: "that's baba's patment (apartment) and mommy's blog". LOL! (all he ever hears from us the past days are these 2 words: apartment and blog!)

I remember a funny conversation with one of my favorite pals in town, Chingkee. She told me that our friend Lij who married a very nice Spanish man has asked her to visit her in Spain one of these days. Lij said that chinitas are said to be the standard of Spanish men, meaning they tend to like chinitas over the meztizas. Chingkee is a chinese mestiza, double beauty whammy indeed hahah! So we were laughing so hard as I was telling her to fly and go to Spain as soon as she can and find her man. That conversation happened when she wasn't still a nurse. Now that she's a nurse in Chicago, and you know how much nurses earn in US, Spain is definitely one of her 1st out of US trip. She told me she has plans but definitely not this year.

No matter how big the salary of this friend of mine, she still settles for the practical and affordable things in life. I bet when she visits Lij and show her beauty to the Spanish men, she'll be staying in Cheap Spain Hotels, Cheap Madrid Hotels, Cheap Hotels in Barcelona, Cheap Costa del Sol Hotels and Cheap Alicante Hotels. She's not a cheapskate, she just knows how to spend her money wisely. So to you, Chinx, I can't wait to see you leave for Spain and come back with "THE" man haha!
