spare the children (spare our children)

  • Apr. 22nd, 2008 at 7:31 AM

photo taken when Ethan was only 2 months old and I had no sleep for 24 hours

I think many of you have came across on the tragic death of the 7-year old boy, GJAY. He came all the way from the Philippines to America for a vacation with her parents and sister. Like any other kids who came here for a visit, he was excited to see Disneyland. Just a few hours from arrival at the airport, the family went to stroll down Old Pasadena to grab some bite. While they were standing in the busy sidewalk, a car accidentally hit Gjay and his parents. Gjay was in critical condition, his dad in serious condition and his mom with minor injuries. After a week, Gjay died. His very loving Uncle, made a blog to honor him and ask for donations for their hospital bills too: http://www.gjaysworld.org, you can see the full story and media coverage in that site. When I read this, like any other mother's initial instinct, I hugged my son and cried. I can't believe that such an energetic boy's life can be taken that fast! I know accidents are accidents but everyone behind the wheels should be extra careful and responsible before hitting the road.

On the other hand, while I was checking on PEREZHILTON, I saw THIS VERY SHOCKING NEWS which leads you to the VIDEO of a two-year old being corrupted by her allegedly 16-year old babysitter with an 18-year old male friend by forcing the toddler to smoke pot! This happened in Ohio. The full video showed that the toddler was coughing so hard. This is a very disturbing news. Makes me hate addicts all the more.

For me, children are the most helpless human beings. They rely mainly on adults for care and responsibility. But with all these news going around harming innocent children, we can't help but be more worried each and everyday for our children. Let's all pray for Gjay's family that they fully recover from his loss and for this toddler that her health will be spared from the pot.

dang...zero!

  • Apr. 18th, 2008 at 8:27 AM

I woke up with 2 VERY BAD NEWS today! 1st, 3 opps expired on me not because I wasn't able to manage my time well, it was because of my stupid time conversion!!! and the biggest bad news ever---GOOGLE DROPPED MY very humble PR2 to ZERO/0!!! Yeah you read that right? both my livejournal and wifespeaks URL are now zero. I haven't even enrolled wifespeaks in PPP just the LJ URL, keeping in mind that google drops PR of those connected with PPP. But, our theories were very wrong! No worries google hahha! I established a good relationship with my bosses and they won't stop giving me assignments and moolah! So there you go mga kapatid, bilog ang mundo! May kanya kanya tayong palugit lol! I have another site which earned a PR3, but that one I remain an anonymous blogger because that's where I keep most of my rants. I have enrolled it with moolah making for a month and let's see what happens. *grins! Have a happy weekend everyone!

Image above was snagged from this site: READ THIS also for a very interesting insight on google dropping PRs.

the search is on AGAIN!

  • Apr. 13th, 2008 at 4:07 PM

I can't believe that looking for an apartment can be really taxing and can eat up your time. The picture above was supposed to be our future apartment only to find out last week that we can't move on May because the old occupant has extended her contract for another 6 months. It was the only vacant 2-bedroom apartment there. They were kind enough to return our security deposit in full, though. Now, we are on search again! But the big problem is hubby and I are so busy to go around and check on new places. Sigh sigh sigh. I just need to rant.

Hubby and I are currently addicted to these TV shows: The SuperNanny and Discovery Channel's Cash Cab. You can learn a lot of parenting tips at TheSuperNanny show and a lot of information from the Cash Cab games, though he always beats me tsk tsk.

We both think too that SuperNanny, Jojo resembles Lindsay Lohan without the glasses and with her hair down. What do you think? Heee! We lurve her accent!

not me, lolo daddy

  • Mar. 16th, 2008 at 4:56 PM
If you believe that spirits do not have visa and that ghosts only exist in the Philippines, you are wrong =P. As an entry backgrounder, Titan's parents passed away already. His mom, when he was a toddler and his dad, last year. Sometimes I would think that they would show up whenever we have small fights and would act as our referee. Whew! they would be the most effective peacemakers to boot LOL! But honestly, I do think about that since there are stories from Titan's sisters that they, specifically their mom would make "paramdam" to them once in a while.

For the past nights, Ethan's sleeping schedule has been erratic. Blame it on the DST and change of season, 8pm na maliwanag pa! His naptimes were moved to 3 or 4pm. At night, he would sleep from 1am but it gets worst this week as he was sleeping around 3 or 4am. The other night, I tried not giving him a naptime so he would sleep early and would not be waking up in the middle of the night. So he did sleep early around 8pm. Titan and I were downstairs, I was finishing opps, while Titan was having dinner while watching tv. Around 11pm, I heard Ethan crying too loud and with bouts of sobs (this never happened before), I went up and let him sleep again. After around an hour, hubby was knocking too loud in between panting asking me to opened the locked door (i locked it accidentally), enough to wake up Ethan. He said somebody called his name from the sliding door to the sound of his dad. OH NO! I believed him, as hubby is never matatakutin. Then we realized, that it was March of last year that his dad gave up his battle on pancreatic cancer. Titan woke up his Aunt and Uncle and was telling his story over and over. I was getting pissed hearing the story because 1st: it makes me very very scared since most of the time, Ethan and I are left alone in the house even till 11pm and 2nd: Ethan was already wide awake at 1am! I am sure it was his dad who made paramdam to Titan and probably he also visited Ethan which explains his crying and sobbing. I am sooooo SCARED now that it would be my turn to feel his spirit. I remember the night he passed away, Ethan was laughing and giggling in his sleep as if someone was playing with him. So far, Ethan is the only apo who is carrying his family name. But please LOLO DADDY, not me, not Ethan, not Titan again, never ever please! I do not know what I'd do if I see you. But I promise to pray for your spirit always but please again, not me, lolo daddy! That night, we all slept at 5am as Ethan was very energetic already. So lolo daddy, you see you make us really puyat so please never do that again. We totally miss you but it's better we just reminisce our memories with you through your pogi pixs.

procrastinator's TO DO LIST

  • Mar. 15th, 2008 at 12:40 AM
Hubby has been constantly reminding me of important things other than blogging LOL! And it finally dawned on me that I really have to take special and urgent attention to the list below. I have barely a month before my SCHOOL starts and barely 2 months before our target date to accomplish all of these. I still haven't figured out how I would juggle home, Ethan, school (hopefully online, crossing my fingers!) and BLOGGING, of course. And yes Hubby expects me to research on all these, present it to him (in an excel or powerpoint pa!), sit down on it, discuss and come up with our choices and decision next week, hopefully. I am making this list for myself before Hubby lost his patience on his procrastinator wife, that's me PRESENT!

BLOGOSPHERE TO DOs:
1) Finished Bloghopping. I am already on the letter "K" of my blogroll, naku! Turuan niyo na kasi ako mag feeds, bloglines etc... LOL! Paumanhin even on a weekly hop, I can no longer cope my wednesday bloghopping commitment.
2) Complete my walang kamatayan Vegas Vacay entry, baka nga abutin na ito ng 2009! This week promise, I meant this coming week.
3) Upload photos on my Multiply, Fotop and Facebook accounts: Washington, Vegas, Send offs, Local travels, Shoots etc...And then make back-up CDs.
4) Launch my beauty blog. Wala na ngang glitch, di ko pa rin nagagawa.

URGENT TO DOs:
1) New Apartment, move. Utilities checking.
2) After checking apartments, look for Ethan's school nearby and enlist him in Pre-K 3 for September classes. (Yes we are 90% decided to put him to school)
3) Check with DMV for my driver's license!!!
4) Start packing.
5) Check with Strayer University (yep that's where I am taking my Master's Degree), what else I need to do.
6) Open another bank account here, this time joint account.
7) Make a list of things to buy for the new apartment.
8) T mobile, At&t, verizon etc...
9) marami pang iba naku!

With all the TO DOs listed above, this is one thing I would like to procrastinate forever LOL! (read: I'm Freaking out with the thought of DMV's Written and Actual Tests) I know I know driving here is a basic and important necessity! Hay naku!

  • Mar. 7th, 2008 at 2:49 AM
A lot of my friends and even relatives are asking me if I still sleep! hahaha! Of course I do, beauty sleep 1st before moolah ows! But I am just gifted with multitasking supercalifragilisticexpealidocious prowess that I could manage tons of activities with 1 head and 2 hands. Half of my day mostly in the mornings, my life is like a washing machine ahahahahah! labo labo with housechores, opps, ethan and some pa-cute on the side pa ha (read: breakfast on the lakeside with matching amoy amoy ng flowers while reading wallstreet journal). I still manage to sleep at least 5-6 hours a day. I love sleep. I just don't know how to sleep before 3am or 4 (siguro jetlagged pa rin ako after all these months LOL!). Tell me how and I'd really really try that. Before heading off to slumberland, HERE's SOMETHING that gave me a big LOLz, daliiii read it! Nytynyt. Toodles, later.

a peek into my mini workplace and more...

  • Feb. 24th, 2008 at 3:07 PM
So, today is Sunday and tomorrow is hubby's big 3-1 birthday! I am cooking up something for him and I hope I finish it by tonight. I love Sundays as hubby let me take my day off as he's in charge with Ethan. I was greeted by an outburst of laughter by the window, and this is what I saw:

My boys are already up and about, they're playing in the backyard despite the weather. I woke up late as me and hubby watched the Democratic Debate last night, we slept at 3am. Both of us are sooo into politics, whether here or back home. We just love debating with someone regarding our POVs, buti na lang pareho kami ng stand parati or you could just imagine LOL! Here, no matter how tired we are, we have watched all the 15+++ debates.

And would you believe my son is also into politics lol! He knows every US Presidential Candidate, whenever he sees them debating or campaigning or just seeing their TV campaign ads, he'll start saying "CLINGTON"(for Clinton), "OBABA"(for Obama), "HAKAKEE"(for Huckabee), "MAKEN"(for Mc Cain) and before when Edwards was still a candidate, he'll shout "Uncle" in an instant because my brother's name is Edward lol.

Then, yesterday my wireless keyboard arrived. I really love shopping online here and gets excited everytime I get the shipped item on time. The wireless keyboard is really small and the joystick is awesome. So here's a peek into my mini workplace at home. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Toodles.

I'm BLESSED BIGTIME. (a sequel)

  • Feb. 22nd, 2008 at 11:19 PM
After releasing my fumes and smokes even fire HERE, and after some lengthy chat with my bestfriend, tetet (bestfriend knows best) and my mom (mom knows the best and the worst), not to mention some sincere comments left by sincere blogging buddies in that entry, I've come to a realization that we will offer this obligation (no matter how hard) to God. I didn't include some of the details which made me really mad in that entry but I will here, the phonecall included some demanding as if it was hubby's pure obligation may kahalo pang panakot! Hello, sila ang nagkautang because of some irresponsible financial management, kami ang tinatakot? There's a big difference in asking for help than obligating someone to handle the responsibility (and passing to someone the SOLE responsibility) and what more demanding someone to pay this and that. If that person could have said it in a more humble, more considerate way and asking for it as a kind request, it would be a totally different story, but it was the opposite.

But then again, that person might be too desperate to say those words to the point of even obligating and demanding then we have to understand and forgive no matter how hard it is and eventually face the consequences of someone else's irresponsibility. Giving is still the best selfless thing in the world. Again, no matter how hard this is for me, I will oblige and simply offer this to God.

I'm PISSED BIGTIME.

  • Feb. 22nd, 2008 at 2:03 PM
You know, I seldom post entries that do not give happy themes or sad stories, because I want my blog to be a collection of my happy moments in life ONLY. Who wants to reminisce sad moments in his or her life? I guess no one. But this time I need some venting out and ranting to do. The only therapy that I could think of to bring out this "INIS" in my heart is to blog it here. As in I'm really pissed bigtime grrr!

Yesterday, Hubby and I made our late targets/goals setting for the year, everything was just as exciting in the list which include:
1) Completion of stuff in our future apartment;
2) Buying a car;
3) Attending our friends' wedding slash travelling to Chicago and Las Vegas;
4) Getting 1 designer bag for me;
5) Getting 1 luxury watch for him;
6) Him, starting masterals by end of this year;
7) Me, applying for a scholarship on April and eventually finding a very nice part-time job;
8) Filing some important residency papers by mid of this year;
9) paying it forward (in the best way we think, not through #10)
etc... etc...

and suddenly, he answered a very very sad phonecall kakainis! Panira ng mood.
Apparently, we have to include this in our goals for this year:

10)Paying someone else's DEBTS!!!!

o di ba ang saya saya! Because no one will! That's how kapal they are!!! Putting everything in "OUR" to-do list, they thought establising life here is easy, nakupo! Talk about tears, sweat and blood!!! Even if it is not in our responsibility, everyone thinks to be it's my hubby's o di ba ang saya saya talaga!!! It's not a menial amount of money, it's big!!! How could some people be sooo careless in terms of finances and how could some people be so passive and demanding!!! As I am typing this, I can hear my fingers almost smashing the keys in my laptop. But because of this, punong puno na rin si hubby and this is the last time he would be reaching out for them. All these years, all he ever thinks is them and finally napuno na ang salop. Pasensya, di po martyr ang asawa ko. Period. hay i feel relieved LOL!. Thanks for listening. Good day to all.

...and you know what else is the saddest part, the 1st installment will be taken out of my paidblogging earnings because all our other money are to be used for some MORE important expenses and this paidblogging earnings are extra income which is actually eh pinagpupuyatan ko! ang bait ko di ba.

65 words per minute

  • Feb. 21st, 2008 at 10:06 AM
I am a very fast typist, my last check was 65/wpm. This skill has been developed during my 7 years of encoding days(LOL!) in the Embassy. But, my friends in the Embassy are somehow pissed with the way I type, I have very heavy fingers which create terrible typing noise haha which, even my Mom, up to this day super hates it! During our promotion competitions/exams no one would ever dare to sit beside me as their concentration will be distracted by how noisy I type hahaha! Now, my 3-month old HP Pavilion Laptop which hubby gave me as his Thanksgiving Loot Gift, lost it's 1st key hay naku! So yesterday, we bought this wireless keyboard online before my laptop lost another key.

feeling good! (BUYING A DOMAIN)

  • Feb. 19th, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Hi everyone, I'm still alive! It looks unusual as I have not been posting here in my main blog very often (read:more than 2 entries a day). I will be giving more updates to what kept me busy during the hours that I wasn't blogging here. (But I was in my Detour Blog.) Anyhoo, for those who were asking if it really was worth it to buy your own domain especially in terms of PPP opps. My answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! After I bought my own domain for my detour blog, my wifespeaks family blessed me with not just a subdomain or merely masked domain but actually an own domain. After mama mee's and mel's tweaking, they discovered that http://em.wifespeaks.com is already my own domain yoohoo! Can you just imagine that, both of my blogs are my own domains already? I emailed all the paidblogging sites and they were quick to update my URLs. The very 1st effect of having your own domains, was when I logged on to PPP this morning, I got about 12 White OPPS! You know what white opps meant right? And for the very 1st time I was able to grab a single opps worth $50! And not to mention SR's 100% bidding approvals for own domains. So all the mommies out there, it won't hurt you a bit to buy your own domain, afterall the cost is just equivalent to a couple of opps! Go ahead and get yourselves your own domain. Happy blogging to all of us!

last sunday's HOT story.

  • Jan. 15th, 2008 at 8:29 PM
What I like about Sundays, is that the whole of Titan's clan get together for chitchats and DVD marathon. Aside from the sumptous filipino food, I also forget my being homesicked because of the chika chika and also, Ethan gets to socialize with the other kids in the Family. They really make it a point that Sundays are well-spent after a gruelling week of ALL WORK. So last Sunday, I was tasked to do the Grilled Spareribs, or spareribs barbeque. The winter and the rain did not stop us, we decided to do it inside the house with all the vent and exhaust opened hahahah! Oh yes amoy na amoy bbque sa buong bahay. Ethan and I were the only ones who were left at home, while we waited for them for their usual sunday service(they're all christians, only 2 families, including us are catholics), the remaining ribs were grilled by me alone. So there, Tita Babes said I just have to plug it and voila bbque on. Heck it was easy, I was in between giving Ethan a bath then putting him to sleep/nap and checking opps haha! (di ko talaga kayang hindi magmulti-task, the more I work on a single task solely, the more papalpak ako!) Then when I finally focused on the bbque alone since I have nothing else to do, I opened the griller and there I saw a huge huge fire as in! Can you see the vent on the stove? It almost reached that vent. All I could do was shrieked a loud OH MY GOD!, I was praying for high heavens for miracle and right disposition. The fire got bigger and even in my mind it is not wise to throw water because it will just ignite the fire more, the glass of water filled with ice that I was previously drinking was the 1st thing I had in mind. I poured all of it in the griller, and you know the rest of the story. Lalong lumaki ang apoy! Shet shet shet! More Oh my Gods on my part. Because this time, it almost reached part of the WOODEN cabinets! I was ready to run upstairs and get ethan(who was in deep slumber) and our important documents (they are in a single luggage, all passports, documents, jewelries etc...i got this practice from my mom, so in times of emergency you can easily get all of it in 1 luggage), in split seconds, the fire was gone. Ang laki kong tanga hahahah! I should have just closed the griller and the fire will automatically die out, sabi nila. So here are the pictures to animate my fire story more. I immediately gave hubby a call, who was out running errands. He was laughing sooo hard and said that I should have called 911, asar! kenes!

ang salarin!

Lesson learned: never will I cook Barbeque in my entire life AGAIN. I swear!

I'm so jealous of you xbox 360! or ekbak (as how Ethan would pronounce it). Eversince you came into our lives, you have been getting my son's and husband's attention! You are the 1st thing my husband check on when he arrives home! When I run out of activities and games for my son, he turns to you! I don't get you, you're as possessive as PS2, PS3 and videogames like those. You evolved too fast, from xbox, you're 360 now and then there's guitar hero! What's up with you? You're every where, in every house I go to! But, it's okay just keep my boys company so I'd have plenty of time to blog LOL! And this is the only place I beat my husband in every game and made him number 2 after making myself the number 1!

Although this site will still be my main blog, the detour site will be a totally different blog, a different approach. I made some cross-postings and will made more cross-postings for important entries, but basically THIS DETOUR will be more about good finds both in the net and mall shopping, my make-up passion what-have-yous, gadgets obsessions, awesome inventions and memes, tags and awards will all be posted there, and there will be no entry about my life and my family. Nothing really personal, all for the sake of making a blog with random discoveries. See you all there and don't leave me here as well. toodles!

boohoo!

  • Dec. 3rd, 2007 at 4:26 PM
Bad bad bad news!

I am in contact with one of the paidblogging sites I joined. I was wondering why I don't receive as much opps as my blogging buddies do and this was their reply: (and so I thought my page rank was low, nah! i was wrong! =()

Hi emillie, There could be many reasons for this. The first being that a great deal of our advertisers segment out users with LiveJournal accounts. The second could be if the adv. is segmenting for Alexa, because you have a LJ blog you have no Alexa score. We try to put out opps that have as little restrictions as possible yet, there are not many that come our way. We have many more coming out in the next few days though, Just keep checking back in and see what pops up. Hope this helps. Scott

Now, I'm thinking of creating another blogsite in blogspot which I don't want to as I've got my hands full with other things and it would be hard to maintain two accounts. But if it would mean more paid blogging moolah, why not? Let's see.

Another bad news is: Two weeks ago, Titan's family announced that we're spending christmas in New York (dec22-29), they're going to use their time sharing in one of the hotels there. I was really excited but when Titan and I talked about this last night, we decided not to go. He's barely new in his job and although he has vacation leaves, he knows that it's the busiest time of the business and don't want his boss to be left behind. And of course, we have to save more money for our future crib. So, I guess I'll have my white Christmas here in Virginia.

priorities, priorities.

SHOPPING HAVEN
Somebody must stop me from visiting those outlets and shopping centers here!!!

Who says that Bangkok is their shopping haven, wait till they reach US. Bangkok's night market and shopping centers used to be my #1 shopping haven and thought that I would be able to save my pocket money here for an apple laptop and would definitely say no to shopping! But oh my oh my! As soon as I set foot on the outlets (especially the ones in Vegas), I'm lost and forgot all about my budget.

I'm a sucker for tops, blouses, jackets etc... I wouldn't want to repeat the same blouses if I have a choice! So you could just imagine me panicking and grabbing all the cutesy stuff in Ross dress for less, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, H&M, Aeropostale, Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle Outfitter and drools on Bebe, Macy's, JCPenney and Bloomingdales and of course the more popular brands in the Outlets: Children's Place, CK, Ann Taylor, Ralph, Coach, Vans, Nike, Famous Footwear and the likes, my Gosh! Not to mention my love for cute undies and pjs so a visit to Victoria's Secret is also a must and my passion for make-up so there goes MY Sephora! I realized today that I doubled our luggages, I hope I don't get overluggage on our domestic flight this weekend!

My 1st stop was Walmart, I was just supposed to buy toiletries for myself and ethan but ended up reaching my shopping budget for my whole stay here in the west! Blame it on Covergirl, Loreal and Maybelline make-up and herbal essenses and ethan's toys! Then there goes a visit to Tjmaxx, Marshalls and Target, I swear you could leave me in those places for a week!

Hay naku talaga!
Though, honestly, it's much much cheaper to shop here than in the Philippines, now I know why flight attendants end up selling px goods because one can really profit from shopping here and selling it there. Hmmm, gawin ko ngang negosyo. This evening, my brother was asking me if I wanted to go out tomorrow to do my last minute shopping and I loudly declined hahaha! Ubos na pera ko!

IT'S HAILING IN OUR BACKYARD
Last October 29 at around 4:20 pm, I was whipping some recipe in the kitchen when I started hearing loud sounds which seemed to me that huge rocks were being thrown at our roof! My brother shouted from his room "naghehail na", Ethan and I immediately got out and saw in the poolside that it was indeed hailing, it was raining ice cubes! I took a video but realized that I cannot post it coz ethan had no undies at that time hahhaah, nagwiwi kasi, he forgot to pull up his shorts.

It's getting colder and colder here, naku ano pa kaya sa VA, ginawin pa naman ako lately. This will be my very 1st white christmas and I'm all excited! Winter outfits are in order =P. Here are photos of the hail aftermath in our poolside.

I had my 9-inch birthday haircut after 8 months of not visiting my favorite hairstylist, Ziggy of Toni&Guy (6750/Crowne Plaza) now transferred to Mary Pauline in Forbes.  But, I find it too short and parang i don't like it boohoo!  I'll stay insomniac till my hair grows longer again.  I'll post more about that on my birthday entry.

My sister-in-law, Ava and I were having our usual anything-under-the-sun chat the other day and she was right when she said that it's hard to lose weight when you're nearing 30s.  I lost a lotta weight lately, but the post pregnancy tummy flabs are still intact! =( I try to do 200 crunches every single day but they're still there, sticking with me forever. hay.

Thanks to my MG family for the wonderful NYFD treat and chikahan, also, for the Fino passport holder gift. Lavet!

Bon weekend everyone! I'm just effing tired to post a longer entry now. toodles.

rhino is nose.

What's your take on cosmetic surgery???

I accompanied someone close to me to the Belo Medical Clinic in Tomas Morato to have her nose undergo some enhancements or to be more medically correct, to undergo a rhinoplasty.  Gosh! I was overwhelmed with the number of women and men who came in and out of the clinic err building.  That "someone-close-to-me" said that the Medical Plaza Clinic was busier than the TM branch.  I can't believe that those people were willing to spend HUGE I mean really HUGE amount of money for cosmetic surgery!

"Someone-close-to-me" is really pretty, she doesn't need any further cosmetic surgery enhancements.  Her nose was kinda big and imperfect, but it was proportionate with the rest of the parts of her face and her imperfect nose contributed to the beautiful face she has/had.  She said that this was her lifelong dream so I supported her, eventhough deep inside I was screaming and was disagreeing with the whole thing.  I've learned about gortex, silicone or using your own ear cartilage! to be inserted in the nose to have that ideal nose bridge.  Knowing her, she opted for the most expensive, the GORTEX! The surgery lasted for about 3 hours and we were there till around 10pm.  In between, about 3 girls went out with mask covered to their nose down, all of them undergone rhinoplasty too.

When "Someone-close-to-me" went out with plaster and mask on her face, she was raving how she loves her new look despite the little soreness in her face, which is a normal reaction within 3 days after the operation. I could see the new bridge despite the plaster and the mask, and I can tell for sure that her new nose will make her look more mestiza.

When I saw the big stitches in her nose, my Gosh! I got scared and felt a little uncomfortable with the whole thing.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of surgeries and blood, I have high pain tolerance.  What bothers me is how could someone be willing to change their look (especially their face) in a matter of a few hours and have someone actually cutting you open, inserting something foreign, giving you a new nose, a new set of boobs etc... And after you went out of the operating room, the new-face-off-person will rave that she's/he's happy, she/he felt complete, she/he felt more confident.  And after a few more days, suffer the after-effect pain and soreness all for vanity's sake. I mean we don't need these surgeries for us to be more happy, more confident, more complete and more beautiful.  I know i know, to each his own.  But it's really hard for me to understand this whole thing at this point.  I would understand if you're a model, an actress/actor, where you should invest in your looks to earn more.  But for ordinary humans, I don't think cosmetic surgery is an option.

I don't have a perfect nor a beautiful nose but I certainly love how pert, how small and all of its imperfections.  Ayokong magsalita ng tapos but as of this very moment, I pledged to myself that I won't undergo any type of cosmetic surgery in my lifetime. NEVER! I'm happy with the way I look now.  I considered, well my husband actually considered getting a mesolipo for me but I'm trying to lose the pregnancy fats as naturally as I could.

I don't know what I'm actually trying to say here, maybe i'm feeling a little overwhelmed, cynical and confused, anyone enlighten me hahahah!... Let me sum up this entry by referring you to this Dove Campaign Ad.

September 7

  • Sep. 7th, 2006 at 9:48 PM
...today is my 3rd official day after taking on the new position at work, which i talked about here. AND i idiotly repeated one biggest blooper i can ever make!!! que horror!

At the end of everyday, i give this certain clear plastic envelope (with something on it of course, this is how critical and delicate my job is now) to the canadian supervisor of my unit for safekeeping in his large cabinet/bolt. And every start of my every day, I have to tell him that i'd be getting it back so i can start working on it or pass it on to my partner depending on the load of my morning tasks. Labo noh! pwede naman sa drawer ko na lang itago. BUT protocols are protocols! So, on my 1st day, i committed the blooper for the 1st time! (daming 1sts, redundant =P)

Knocking on his office door, in a high pitch and cheerful tone...
Ako: Good Morning NICK! (which is actually the name of our Program Manager and not his!) I'd be getting the ______.
Sup: the what?!? (hindi ata niya narinig buti na lang!)
Ako: the ______.
Sup: Oh okay! So, how do you find you're new job? Is this your 1st day?!

Sa isip ko, i was here since last week for the training and turnover, my Goodness narinig niya nga na iba ang tawag ko sa kanya! at ginantihan niya ako!

Ako: Not really much of an adjustment, because of my experience with the finance section...blah blah blah!
Sup: Great! Welcome Aboard!

ShetShetShet!!! Alam ko nahalata niya yun, a colleague even commented with: "okay lang siya mag dadalawang linggo ka na kaya dito" alright! don't rub it in.

2nd Day. Wala siya, i sneaked to his room and get the plastic envelope.
3rd Day. Today. Guess what i called him NICK again!!!!! this time he gave me a silly grin as if telling me, hey emillie, you called me the wrong name twice and we only spoke for like 3x!

hay hay! Be REALLY REALLY careful what you wish for TALAGA!... sobrang toxic ng bagong responsibility ko kasi, kaya medyo windang pa rin ako!!!

Below, I've listed some downsides of this current promotion:
(opo! i'm counting my blessings, gusto ko lang magwhine kahit konti *))

6 mahirap mag-leave, there are only 2 people taking on this same responsibility in the section(kasama na ako sa dalawa) at isa lang ang back-up.

7 bawal tamarin, bawal antukin. well hindi ka talaga aantukin!

pito lang naman pala, kaya to!
despite the above, pramis super love ko ang bago kong position =) I love the adrenaline rush it gives me everyday at sabi nga ni nick este ni victor kanina bago siya umuwi, you must feel richer!!! harharhar!
