surprise send-off video

  • Apr. 14th, 2008 at 6:40 PM
When I left Manila, I had so little time to attend the numerous send-off dinners and surprise parties that was showered to me by my friends. Up to now, I am emotional when I blog about them. So, you may notice that I did not blog at that time, it was too emotional to blog these send-offs. As I was deleting files in my inbox yesterday, I noticed that I haven't shared yet this wonderful Surprise Farewell video given to me by my Embassy of Canada friends, a blog-moment worthy. My wacky and very pretty friend Ging spearheaded the making of this video. I can't count the number of times they threw surprise parties for me: all of my birthdays, bridal shower, baby shower, etc... I practically grew up in the company of my loving friends at the Canadian Embassy. The day they told me that they were preparing for a farewell party, I told them not to bother, I was too lonely to say goodbye! But of course, they insisted. It was (as usual) a full production farewell party held at Red Box with more than 25 people who came. In the middle of our videoke, this video was shown. I was really surprised and touched. I am sharing this video to everyone, who says you cannot mix true friendship with work? I am missing them sooo much and I know it would be hard to find equally loving and thoughtful colleagues who turn real good friends. Make sure to finish till the end as the funny parts are on the latter part. Enjoy! Turn on your speakers.

the search is on AGAIN!

  • Apr. 13th, 2008 at 4:07 PM

I can't believe that looking for an apartment can be really taxing and can eat up your time. The picture above was supposed to be our future apartment only to find out last week that we can't move on May because the old occupant has extended her contract for another 6 months. It was the only vacant 2-bedroom apartment there. They were kind enough to return our security deposit in full, though. Now, we are on search again! But the big problem is hubby and I are so busy to go around and check on new places. Sigh sigh sigh. I just need to rant.

bloghopping bloglines

  • Apr. 7th, 2008 at 1:13 AM
Today is my official 1st day of school. Eventhough my on-campus course will start on Thursday, my online course is taking most of my time. It was interesting actually as my classmates in the online course came from all walks of life (age ranging from late 20s-60s) and from all parts of the world. I have a classmate in Nigeria, a journalist of Washington Post, a Cosmetologist in Georgia (who is actually very pretty, yeah we submitted our photos, it was optional but I submitted mine as well) and this doctor soldier in Iraq, he's an American Citizen based there and many other interesting personalities in the class. Everyone was very participative in the discussion threads and of course, I should make myself noticeable by my Professor. The readings for this week are overwhelming, I clearly remembered my college days where I took a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies, all the quizzes, exams and projects were composed of purely research and writing. I think it would be similar to that but more reading and more research! At the end of the this Spring quarter, we are required to come up with a minimum of 30-page paper individually, tsk tsk.

One of the things I missed doing is bloghopping. Because things got really busy, my commited Wednesday bloghop day was not met for many weeks now. Again, My Apologies. Thanks to my good blogging buddies TIN and ALPHA for sharing with me the power of BLOGLINES. I tried it today and it is much better to bloghop using this site. So, I hope to be updated with all of your blog entries. Hubby was right for not moving to an apartment this month, my time management skill is really being tested. I wanted to bloghop, read and answer my course assignments, finish opps, and box our stuff all at the same time. And worst, Ethan has been terrible the past days, all he wants is my FULL attention and he is having a hard time sleeping too. I hope to get by soon and have a perfect routine with all these tasks around me. See you all in your blogs!

This is part of our lunchtime routine. I am so glad that my school schedule are after 6pm. I don't ever want to miss this show with my son. Watch him as he dances to the wiggle dance of YO GABBA GABBA! Next time, I'll video the funny faces, think happy thoughts etc...And it would be a clearer video, I promise heheh. Medyo ititilt niyo na naman ang mga heads niyo but I'm sure you'll enjoy watching him as he HOLDS STILL and WIGGLES! We love this Nick show to bits. Lokang loka kami ditong mag-ina!

a new "pampahele"

  • Mar. 21st, 2008 at 4:27 PM

Ethan has been drinking milk from the glass lately, he really is getting to be one matured toddler. This also means that his usual "pampatulog" milk bottles are now neatly kept together with all his other baby stuff. However, I am so tempted to give the bottle again as he found a new pampatulog/pampahele habit, that of caressing my closed eyes or sometimes he would put some of my hair on top of my eyes and then caress them for 30minutes to an hour till he falls asleep. Because of this, I have been growing some unusual small bumps on the side of my forehead, my skin must be irritated with my own hair. At 1st I like it but lately, it's disturbing heheh. Titan finds it funny though, kainis! I remembered when I was like his age till around 8 years old, I used to tweak my dad's earlobes and sometimes his nipples (oh yes, you read it right heheh), pampatulog ko din. Now, this is what you call a sweet karma tsk tsk!!!

welcome sunshine!

  • Mar. 21st, 2008 at 2:53 AM
As I have mentioned in THIS ENTRY, springtime is slowly setting in. Although, they marked March 21 of this year as the 1st full day of spring, March 20 is when Equinox happened or the day when the rays of the sun changed it's direction at the equator. Time flies so fast, I've arrived here in Autumn, then spent my 1st white Christmas and now it's Spring! A few more months and I'd be celebrating my 1st year here. The changing of seasons has been teaching me a lot of things as well, not to fret (i am the biggest worrier you'll ever meet LOL!) on small nor big things as they will pass quickly with answers you've been waiting for just like the 4 seasons we have here.

So far, I am loving spring here. I can finally take out my sandals and havis and those flowy short dresses I have kept for 2 seasons that past. On the other hand. Hubby and I have already kept those thick winter jackets and trenchs! But most of all, Ethan is the happiest with this change of season. He has been spending time under the sun, lying on the grass, smelling the flowers, catching the butterflies and giving me every flower he sees blossoming infront of him. I am REALLY loving our new life here. Sometimes, I am teary-eyed with so much happiness whenever I see my boys laughing their hearts out over some game they just played. It's just my 5th month here and so far, this new place is my HOME, I proclaim from this day on. No homesickness to date. I am loving this completeness feeling I have. Have a fun spring to everyone especially to the east coasters who have spent sooo much time indoors during the winter!

current addictions

Hubby and I are currently addicted to these TV shows: The SuperNanny and Discovery Channel's Cash Cab. You can learn a lot of parenting tips at TheSuperNanny show and a lot of information from the Cash Cab games, though he always beats me tsk tsk.

We both think too that SuperNanny, Jojo resembles Lindsay Lohan without the glasses and with her hair down. What do you think? Heee! We lurve her accent!

pretzels on springtime

  • Mar. 15th, 2008 at 12:13 AM

The weather is getting springy and springy. Ethan and I have been spending so much time at the park or at the backyard every single day. This strolling and walking entail energy loss for the little boy, thus palaging gutom. I have been running out of merienda ideas since he gets sawa agad. This afternoon, I thought of making our merienda a little fun for him so I melted chocolate bars with milk then we dipped his pretzels on it. Hit na hit kay Ethan (at kay mommy din!) as all he could ever say to me with every bite are these words: "TASTES GOOD MOMMY!" Tomorrow, white chocolate naman.

My boy seems to love musical instruments. He could name about 5 of them: a piano, a guitar, a drum, a xylophone and a violin. Must have inherited this trait from his Uncle Wow! Eversince he saw his dad and uncles playing Guitar Hero, he would mimic them by doing this: (again, the voice in the video ain't mine LOL!)

YSOBEL

  • Feb. 27th, 2008 at 11:00 PM
bullets will do for now.

>>>It's funny because for the past 3 days, Ethan has been imagining as if he has a baby sister (mala-imaginary baby). They eat together, he shares toys with her, invites her to watch transformers, shares his blanket and brushes teeth with her. Kinda creepy, you might think. But actually he knows the concept of getting pregnant and giving birth. He has been constantly kissing my tummy every now and then and saying goodbye to his future sister whom he thinks is sleeping in my tummy, nakupo! Sensyales na ba ito na humihingi na siya ng kasunod? So last night, I was telling hubby all these things and he thought we think of a good name for Ethan's imaginary baby slash our future daughter. We have always wanted Ysobel as a name for a girl but we want a 2nd Christian name (such as Xavier for Ethan Xavier). I wanted Therese since Ethan starts with "E" that's my name initial at least for the girl it should start with a "T" for hubby's name initial naman. Isn't it so nice to name her Ysobel Therese? But for reasons only Baters aka Farah knows, I won't choose naming her after Therese. So any suggestions? Wala lang pampaubos oras lang.
>>>I was not planning to blog today or tonight so to speak, as I can't even get out of the comforters. For some reasons, the heater broke down. You can just imagine with a 30s temperature, without a heater, my fingers can't barely type a single key!!! Hubby has been giving me food and water because I can't barely get out of the bed. Even the portable heaters aren't working, crap! But, I realized I have expiring OPPS tomorrow and I don't want to rush. So I am blogging now with all the willpower I could get from this cold temperature. I know I will be bombarding you with series of OPPS again but I promise to get back with 2 longer personal entries: that of hubby's birthday and our very delayed Las Vegas Trip kwento.

>>>Oh my gosh! The 2nd episode of ANTM cycle 10 was sooo controversial, somebody quitted! Check it out later in my DETOUR BLOG.

why the picture? para basahin niyo and entry na ito dahil naintriga kayo sa pics LOL at oo mali akala niyo di po ako buntis, not in the next 2 years. toodles.

winter bites

  • Feb. 25th, 2008 at 7:46 PM
Lucky are the kids in tropical countries such as our beloved Philippines as they could play anytime they want outside of their houses. When your son began to wail, cry and shout all at the same time for a couple of hours non-stop because he wanted to run in the backyard and he doesn't understand that too much cold weather can get him and his mommy sick, what do you do? Give up and let him play outside. But you need to bundle him and yourself before he could play outside. This takes about 3 minutes or so. I miss the times when he just asked his yaya to accompany him in the park in our village back home in his sando, shorts and havis, then meet and play his plenty of playmates/neighbors.

he's happiest when I give in to his wailings

he wants some fresh air as he flies his helicopter (uh-oh i forgot to put socks, he's wearing 3 layers of tops and 2 underpants)

I was checking for more OPPS this morning and was surprised to see this in one of the paidblogging sites:

You have already taken the maximum campaign offers available to you per month. Please check back on or after 03/01/2008 for more offers.

...haha! and another site emailed me too, informing me that for the past weeks, I have been meeting the required OPPS/day for my 2 blogs and if I keep taking more than 6 per day, I might get another warning email. What can I do? they keep popping out from nowhere and I don't say no to moolah lol!

So I am truly addicted to OPPS and it has been so far so good as I turn 4 months on March 16! Yay! How's the business with everyone else?

oh no! it's flu season...

  • Feb. 22nd, 2008 at 10:37 AM
Can you believe it, everyone in hubby's family was hit with the flu except me, him, Ethan and his 3 other cousins who arrived from the Philippines a year ago. Iba talaga ang kapit ng mikrobyo pag galing pinas! Haha! Everyone is really suffering from this flu season, we've postponed a couple of parties as there are 4 February birthday celebrants in the Family including hubby.

They say it's really the flu season now, probably because of the upcoming springtime. One day, the temperature is in the range of 70s and the next day it will be on the 30s or even 20s. I'm talking about fahrenheit here. I continously hope that we'll not be hit with this flu as I can't bare to take care of 2 boys right now with all the pending opps. To everyone else in the East coast, take care and drinks lotsa fluid and Vitamin C.

65 words per minute

  • Feb. 21st, 2008 at 10:06 AM
I am a very fast typist, my last check was 65/wpm. This skill has been developed during my 7 years of encoding days(LOL!) in the Embassy. But, my friends in the Embassy are somehow pissed with the way I type, I have very heavy fingers which create terrible typing noise haha which, even my Mom, up to this day super hates it! During our promotion competitions/exams no one would ever dare to sit beside me as their concentration will be distracted by how noisy I type hahaha! Now, my 3-month old HP Pavilion Laptop which hubby gave me as his Thanksgiving Loot Gift, lost it's 1st key hay naku! So yesterday, we bought this wireless keyboard online before my laptop lost another key.

ANTM Cycle 10 winners revealed!

  • Feb. 20th, 2008 at 6:35 PM
I was sooo excited watching the premiere and even my son was watching with me and he kept saying the whole time "mommy, wow girls wow girls!". I was a bit disappointed at first because it was full of catfights and screaming girls! Not to mention that I find the school-theme-set-up a bit Hogwarts-imitation corny lol! But then again, as the show ended, the girls personalities get more interesting. I already have my top 3: I am booting for The girl who undergone circumsion in Somalia, the girl who graduated from an Ivy League school and a girl with the prettiest face! Let's see if I change my mind.

Here they are the ANTM Cycle 10 Winners! and oh yes, make-up does a lot of wonders! Ahem!

his 3rd

  • Feb. 20th, 2008 at 1:59 AM
My son is turning 3 on May 1 this year. If we were back home, I might have already planned his 3rd birthday party as his past 2 birthday celebrations were planned bigtime. But this year, I guess it would be simple. My dream of celebrating his 3rd birthday in Disney World might be postponed for next year due to some change of schedule and some prioritizing to do. We might just have a simple family party in our future apartment and probably we might treat him for a Chuck E Cheese's playdate. But, if I was to plan his 3rd birthday party, probably the theme would be TRANSFORMERS.
He really is into this eversince he 1st watched the DVD. His day starts and ends with watching the Transformers DVD and his baba is collecting his transformers toys lately. Oh my goodness, he is becoming to be a real bigboy! He is now a certified graduate of Disney Cars, Incredibles and Spiderman. He loves Drake and Josh and also an avid fan of Ben10. tsk tsk. binatilyo na ang anak ko! You should see him do his action stunt, parang 10 years old na!

Here's reminiscing his past 2 birthday parties.

His F1-themed 1st birthday party at the Mahogany Place with Wanlu.

and his Disney Cars themed 2nd birthday party at his grandparents' house in Tahanan Village with Jollibee as his special guest.

nothing else matters

  • Feb. 20th, 2008 at 1:44 AM
Lately, I have been unable to blog during daytime or especially when Ethan is having his naptime. I was busy with other things when I'm not with Ethan, which explains my posting time at wee hours in the morning. I usually join hubby and Ethan to sleep and then get up the bed when both of them are asleep already so I could continue with blogging. When I'm done, usually around 3-4am, my back hurts, my head is spinning, all I need is good flat back and rest, but my boys chose not to give me this luxury sleeping position as they both want to cling to me when I'm back on bed. Sometimes, really uncomfortable but I could make tiis all the uncomforts because I feel so loved, both of them just love hugging me. When I close my eyes, I feel so lucky having these boys needing me more and more.

But lately, they have learned to cling on each other. Just look at this photo. Aaaaw!
I should not be getting up the bed when their arms are all over me.

RANDOM ME

  • Feb. 19th, 2008 at 2:19 AM
After bombarding you with series of paid entries, I might as well give you an update of me. Though, I still have 16 more backlog OPPS and it's just Tuesday, you know Wednesdays are for raining OPPS. I've had enough for the night as I have proudly grabbed my very 1st $50 dollar OPP! I never imagine paidblogging could be taxing at times, (lest, maintaining 2 blogs!) it has indeed become a career for me, I just turned 3 months last February 16 and I must say I did an excellent job in paidblogging. I could have started this way way earlier. But regrets are for losers. Hubby and my son learned to adjust with my so-called working hours at home. They really do.

>>>The reason for my less entries is I have been trying to sleep healthy meaning eliminating the insomniac in me. I have a recurring migraine caused by staying too late in the computer. As I have blogged HERE, I started a sleeping routine by sleeping at 9pm and waking up at 6am. But as predicted, I hate mornings and I ended up spending more hours in the bed! Sleeping early and not meeting my 0PPS requirement every night makes me cranky and doubles the migraine the following days. And so, I am back to my sleepless nights slash morphs into my insomniac being. Hence, the absence of bloghopping, but I promise to bloghop this week not later than friday!

>>>For some reasons, I have been helping hubby's Doctors-Aunts and Uncles slash our wedding godparents in their job search, they moved from Germany and Immigrated here. Unfortunately, both of them are so overqualified and they have been rejected by companies and universities for being very well-experienced surgeon and gynecologist. They have been using my laptop while I assist them in their online job hunt and this afternoon, they accidently tweaked some of the settings of my YM beta version(i think) and when I logged in, my YM just messed up. Only the YM vista is working but I just hate this version. So for everyone, who messaged me, I did not receive any. I'll try to download beta version again tomorrow. Hopefully it works!

>>>Lately, I'm just getting sick of all the networking sites, read: FRIENDSTER, MY SPACE, MULTIPLY, FACEBOOK (most especially). I don't know why, maybe nagsawa na lang ako. I feel it's very impersonal, I would still appreciate personal emails over testimonials and long conversations and hugs over looking at a friend's pictures. This Facebook is really getting into me LOL! I am thinking of cancelling my account. They have been emailing updates and friends requests, dati wala naman. Siguro dahil magdadalawang buwan na akong di nag checheck. I was hesitant to log in this morning coz I might be traumatized with the requests, and guest what, when I logged in, I got 521 requests!!!! And you have to ignore them one by one. MAJOR CHAKANESS!

>>>I so badly want to watch these 2 movies with my girlfriends back home, especially with my MG family. Movie life here sucks! boohoo! I miss all of you, sawa na ako manood ng DVD with Titan lol! I want girlfriends movie sidecomments naman and tsismisan after. Uwi na ko lol!

>>>and lastly, I have re-watched the reruns of ANTM Cycles 1-9 to get ready for the Cycle 10 which will premiere on Wednesday, February 20 woohoo!!! I missed my photoshoots everytime I watch ANTM. Hay naku! Senti senti. Read more as I blog it HERE!

o siya sya, that's it pancit. gotta go! bukas naman!

feeling good! (BUYING A DOMAIN)

  • Feb. 19th, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Hi everyone, I'm still alive! It looks unusual as I have not been posting here in my main blog very often (read:more than 2 entries a day). I will be giving more updates to what kept me busy during the hours that I wasn't blogging here. (But I was in my Detour Blog.) Anyhoo, for those who were asking if it really was worth it to buy your own domain especially in terms of PPP opps. My answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! After I bought my own domain for my detour blog, my wifespeaks family blessed me with not just a subdomain or merely masked domain but actually an own domain. After mama mee's and mel's tweaking, they discovered that http://em.wifespeaks.com is already my own domain yoohoo! Can you just imagine that, both of my blogs are my own domains already? I emailed all the paidblogging sites and they were quick to update my URLs. The very 1st effect of having your own domains, was when I logged on to PPP this morning, I got about 12 White OPPS! You know what white opps meant right? And for the very 1st time I was able to grab a single opps worth $50! And not to mention SR's 100% bidding approvals for own domains. So all the mommies out there, it won't hurt you a bit to buy your own domain, afterall the cost is just equivalent to a couple of opps! Go ahead and get yourselves your own domain. Happy blogging to all of us!
