why do I love him? ...meme

  • Apr. 14th, 2008 at 6:14 PM
Farah tagged me this meme on April Fools! Thanks Bats, I realize we seldom blog about our Hubbies as we talk so much about our kids. At least with this meme, we are able to remind ourselves how grateful we are with our husbands.

THE QUESTION: What do you love the most about your husband/ partner?

I could spend many days listing the things on what I love about my husband, Titan. He is not a perfect husband but he is the closest thing to perfection. We had our rounds of bad days but at the end of the day, I realize I am in the best position being his wife, really. Now, I understand why my Mom wanted me to marry him even if he is my 1st and only boyfriend at that time LOL! For the lack of time, I will try to list every little thing that I love about him, just anything that pops out of my mind. I am on time limit here as I have tons of assignments to do, both in blogging and in school. (will try to add more on this entry when I remember something else)
♥ I love him because he is my 1st and only boyfriend but I got to experience everything that a girl can experience with having plenty of boyfriends, ano yun? Go figure LOL!
♥ I love him because he TAUGHT me everything I need to survive in life and brought me to every wild place and adventure. He is a survivor.
♥ I love him because we share the same comments and quirks when we admire or despise people hahahah!
♥ I love him for giving me the wedding of my dreams, every single detail bit of it.
♥ He is the father of my poging anak and I love him because he gave him good genes, both physically and attitude-wise.
♥ He gives me massages when I need them.
♥ I love him because he loves my friends, he is even closer to some of them than I could ever be.
♥ I love him for always cooking for me and my son the best breakfast in the world every morning.
♥ I love him for being the most selfless person that he is, he would spend all his earnings to his family and forget all about his wants and desires.
♥ He always tell me how hot I am as a mom but never stops to remind me when bulges are popping out, mostly in my tummy and hip that I need to do something about them.
♥ He adores my face even early in the morning or late at night hahah! and my purt little nose hahah!
♥ I love him because he fixes Ethan's all sorts of mess ALL THE TIME!
♥ I love him for bringing chips and ice cream for me once a week.
♥ I love him for making our life comfortable.
♥ I love him for loving my family especially my mom.
♥ For being the best fashion critique that he is when buying my clothes and bags are concerned.
♥ For telling me how good a cook I am even if you know that my cooking sometimes sucks LOL!
♥ For sharing housechores with me no matter how tired he is from work.
♥ The 1st thing he does when he arrives home is take care of Ethan, because he knows how tiring my day was, I love him for that.
♥ He checks opps for me when I need to do something else haha!
♥ He pays for my credit cards ahihihi!
♥ He treats me like a baby and also treats me as his matured wife depending on the circumstance.
♥ He never fails to give me flowers in every occassion, sana bag na this time LOL!
♥ For always saying sorry even if it was my fault.
♥ There will only be 1 Tristan Cesar and that's my Titan.
♥ ...to be continued, time is up hee.

ETHAN, now and then.

  • Mar. 11th, 2008 at 2:45 AM
BELA's MOM, abie, tagged me. Lavet sis! I am tagging: Abby's Mom, Munchkin Mommy Weng and Amelie's Mom, Tin.

Here’s the drill started by Mitch of When Silence Speaks:
If you still keep your baby’s first 3 days photos, We would love to see them. Label them as 1st, 2nd or 3rd day (as shown below). After that, please post the most recent one, one photo will do. You can post as much as you want though. I’m sure you will realize and tell yourself “seems like yesterday“.

Well. I do. I actually have an online album for all his photos: http://fotop.net/ethanxavier. A couple of mom said to me that my son is lucky to have me as their mom because I keep all his milestones in a journal and a photowebsite. This is a project I intend to carry till my son (and his future sister) tell me to stop.

♥THEN♥

Fresh from the Oven.
Day ONE. Less than a few seconds from the CS op, his baba took this photo of him and that big man there is my ever-good Ob Gyne, Dr. Martin Manahan.

Day TWO. 1st sight of his chickboyness!

Day THREE. Mamy Tata brought him home. We were checked out on the 3rd day even with a CS.

♥NOW♥

His first Autumn in San Francisco, all smiles.

Enjoying winter in Washington, DC. Very Excited.

Can't wait for Springtime in Virginia. Needs a Haircut.

R-E-D tag!

  • Feb. 26th, 2008 at 3:10 PM
I've been tagged by MEL. Thanks sistah!

Rules:
1. Post YOUR photo wearing red, may it be a red top, bottom, the least would be red accessories if you hate wearing red… If you can’t find one, you still have an option…. Either post your Significant Other’s photo or your child’s photo, if you have one. Of course, they should be wearing red.

2. Let us know the reason why you were wearing red that particular day. Was it your birthday? Is red your favorite color or was it the shirt that you first saw in your closet that day?

3. Tag 3 people close to your heart. By the way, they have to be in your blogroll. No cheating heart please!

4. Once you’re tagged, could we please keep it going - just for this month?

Contrary to popular belief, I have reds in my closet and it's not just purely a collection of purple shades LOL! Though, I clearly remembered how inis I was when my mom let me wore a bloody red dress during my College Graduation, it turned out, I had fabulous pictures. I love red, it's a lucky color, it makes my skin glow and I look more white. It's nice in pictures, that's why Ethan has sooo many red shirts/jackets.

Here are photos of me and my family wearing RED! Snag this tag away if you feel like wearing red.

during Ethan's F1-Themed 1st Birthday Party

I wore a red Bayo top during our pre-nups!

A red Topshop blouse while having dinner with my bestfriend, tet with balikbayan friend, che.

I wore a red TH jacket while visiting Napa Valley.

This red Guess tie-dyed sleeveless top during our honeymoon in Chiang Mai, Thailand, ang liit ko lol!

lastly, photos of my son wearing red jackets!

8 random things about ETHAN

  • Feb. 21st, 2008 at 3:00 PM
I've been tagged by Mrs Working Girl, Mama Mee. Thanks a bunch Maver.

How time flies my son is turning 3 this May 1. Hubby and I were talking last night while we were watching Ethan doing his monologue and we were amazed by how fast time really flies. Anyhoo, just to reminisce his 1st few days with us, here's a photo to help me introduce the tag.

8 Random Things About Ethan: (with some contribution from hubby)

1) Even when I was just conceiving him, he was one energetic fetus! He was sooo movable! My friends and family were witnesses how movable he was as his actions (read:kicks and stretches) were evident in my bulging tummy.

2) He was food poisoned before he turned 1! The expired gerber came from one of his pediatricians tsk tsk.

3) He started calling me Mama at barely 4 months.

4) His memory is awesome! So don't dare not speak bad words in front of him as he will surely say it over and over again with matching: like grandpa (or whoever said it LOL) , grandpa said etc...

5) He knows every characters in every DVD he watches. He also memorizes the chronological order of every scene.

6) He draws his circle, square, diamond, rectangle and star in the air with his finger, this I gotta take a video and blog it here.

7) He still remembers every little thing he does in the Philippines as well as all the people he lived with and played with there.

8) At barely 3 years old, he's a big help in the housechores. He can sweep the floor, vaccuums, washes the dishes, wipes the furnitures, puts dishes in the sink, sorts laundry etc...and knows how to call 911!

you can follow his stories here: My Sunshine named Ethan Xavier.
and his growing up photos here: Ethan Xavier's Web album, Watch Him Grow!

I am tagging, Jane's Sophia, Joy's Aidan, Abie's Bela, Farah's Lizzie, Jacqui's Sam, Alpha's Estong, Peachy's Joaquin, Weng's Abby, Tin's Amelie, Mickee's Khail, Quel's Jeg, Juliet's Kurt, Jody's Bianca and Margaux.

some hidden skills

  • Feb. 1st, 2008 at 12:36 AM
I have been always noted for my convincing and selling power. Every business I ventured on are always booming, though my money handling skills need a little enhancement and training. One time, I remembered my mom asking me to sell the stuff she bought from her vacation in the U.S. and Canada in a pool party I was attending. Voila, all the items were sold in less than an hour! hahah! Another example is how I managed to convince my 2 busy close friends to join the big bandwagon of paidblogging. So welcome farah and val (whose blog is still a work in progress) to the wonderful and amazing world of paidblogging!

bloghop link list

  • Jan. 31st, 2008 at 1:23 AM
I just finished my weekly bloghopping session which I usually schedule every Wednesday. Oh my, with the long list I have, I finished bloghopping for almost 3 hours catching up updates and stories from my fellow moms, bloggers and recently 2 male blogmates. I don't just merely scan your blogs, I read them thoroughly and leave comments. It sure brings a lot of joy in my part. Too bad, I can't add a bloghop link list here in my LJ blog but I'm making one for my Blogspot Detour Blog. So to anyone who wishes to ex-links with me, just leave a message in my cbox there together with your blog's URL. For now, I have to hit the sack and be up and about tomorrow as I've just grabbed 24 opps! Can you believe that? Wednesdays are really the big days for opps, they just keep popping out from nowhere starting 3pm(US-East Coast time) till around 7pm. The earnings are so tempting but I don't know if my brain and fingers can manage them as I have merely 48 hours to complete all of them. night. toodles.

I was tagged by Abie. Thanks sissy. I made a different twist by asking hubby (who is on extended vacation) his 5 also, I was surprised with how vague but deep and short his answers were:

1)respect for parents.
2)fear of God.
3)strive for excellence.
4)help others.
5)patience.

mine are:
1) I want my kids to know that their family is always here for them, in good and in bad times. No matter how grievous deed they made, they can always come back home.
2) I want my kids to know that everytime I punish, ignore or scold them, it's for their own good. If they're hurting, much more us, as their parrents.
3) I want them to know the value of money and education.
4) I want them to know that eventhough we tried to give them the best, they cannot have everything they want.
5) I want them to know that there is a God who is the reason for our everything.

8 Things I am Grateful For.

  • Jan. 24th, 2008 at 10:45 PM

I was tagged by Jane. It's so hard to think of only 8 things to be grateful for as there are a lot I can think of. But I'll try to narrow them down to the top 8 things that popped in my head:

1.) First off, I'm grateful for Jane for tagging me into this. Because like her, I tend to overlook some of my blessings and gets whiny most of the time hahah! How ungrateful! This tag would somehow remind me of how lucky I am now, to start counting my blessings and just stop complaining and worrying.

2.) I'm grateful for my family, my mom, my dad and my two brothers, my loving in-laws, husband and son. I know I can always count on them when everything else turn down on me. I'm really really grateful for such loving and beautiful family.

3.) I'd like to cite my husband solely. I am grateful for him coming into my life. He has given me sooo many things and made me happy all the time. Despite my lack of maturity, he has always been patient of me. He thinks of me more than himself and more than anyone and anything else. Eventhough he's tired from work, I am the one who gets to be pampered at night with massage and the likes. Spoiled to death talaga ako.

4.) I am grateful for my friends. They keep me both insane and sane. I'm blessed with a big circle of real good friends. My bestfriend Tetet and Joanne, my MG family with 3 adorable gay friends whom I spent 7 happy and crazy years at the Canadian Embassy (chingkee, mia, val, mishel, flery, ging, harold, jasper and mother michelle), my ultimate chikadora friends (wifespeakers), my gorgeous highschool friends (farah, stelz, lei, jetjet, cheche, etc... they're just too many to mention), my fab college friends (chelle, may and all those whom I still keep in touch), closest friends whom I can talk anything and everything under the sun(like joy, cheryl, irma, kathy, icee friends), my hubby's buddies (kirl, gio, rommel, jeno, andeng, etc...), all my other friends whom I cannot include in any of the categories mentioned,  and my blogging buddies, you know who you are, you make blogging sooo muh fun!

5.) I am grateful for having able to indulge in one extreme hobby, that of scubadiving and for the places I've seen and travelled (Hongkong, China, Thailand, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo, Bacolod, Anilao, Subic, Bicol, Mount Banahaw, L.A., Napa Valley, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Philly, Virginia, Washington D.C. etc...). I'm still looking forward to spending some time with my bestfriend, Tetet in Canada, a 2nd honeymoon with my hubby in Europe, a shopping adventure with my MG family in Vietnam and Singapore and backpack with them in Palawan, skinny dip in Maldives with all my crazy friends I've mentioned in #4, Surprising my Son and his future sibling by bringing him to all the Disneylands in the World before he turns 12, Explore Japan, Australia, Johannesburg, South Africa and Alaska with my folks and brothers.

6.) I am grateful for my skill and self-taught talent in Make-Up, I find ultimate joy enhancing people's features and showing my artistic side at photoshoots.

7.) I am grateful for this opportunity to live in a different country. It was a big risk and the transition was hard, we are still on the process of being fully stable but I am glad to be at this state now. I have learned so much from this move and my small young family has never been this close and strong. Ika nga ni KC Concepcion on her From Paris to Pinas show, never ever allow yourself to be too comfortable at one place, because when you forego of all the conveniences in your life, that's when you challenge yourself, you mature, you grow, you improve, and that's where you learn who you truly are. Keep moving, keep improving. Change is always good. When things and place become very convenient for you, there is definitely no room for growth.

8.) I am grateful for my faith. I am glad that I was brought up to believe on heaven and hell. I am extremely blessed for the big man up there who gave us an adorable son and for always being there for me 24/7.

I am tagging meeya, jen, ela, joy, juliet, cynch, cata, cez, jacqui, weng, and denoy.

TADA! It's here! I have been collecting Starbucks Journal for 5 years now, yes from the time they launch the promo. I started hunting for one here, but unfortunately they have this promo only in China, Indonesia and of course, our beloved Pinas. I wished for the 2008 Starbucks Journal in my other blog since I have no other means to have it. You can read how much I begged for it here.

and suddenly an angel in the person of Nyree granted my wish HERE!

After much anticipation it is now on my own hands. Read the arrival story here. This will be my new bestfriend next to my laptop because things I don't write in my 2 blogs will be placed here. Oh yes my life is not an ultra open book if that's what you think, especially after my mom has cautioned me of identity theft lol! as if!

Good Morning, It's 2008!

  • Jan. 1st, 2008 at 9:54 AM
It's New Year's Morning, our New Year wasn't exactly as grand and happy as how we spent our Christmas. I feel homesicked and I miss what my mom has always been cooking for our New Year's Dinner, but it was still a beautiful New Year! I wanted to share this to everyone, I got this from alpha and it really made my new year's morning very inspiring. I hope to carry this on throughout 2008. I'm welcoming 2008 with a very positive mood!

“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.” - Og Mandino

christmas tags

  • Dec. 19th, 2007 at 2:54 PM
I've been tagged and awarded by my sister-in-law, Abby. I'm sending out both award and christmas greeting tag to my closest blogging sisters: abby (back to you), abie, jane, alpha, meeya, monina, mickee, cez, tin, jen, cata, joy, mel and weng.

here goes:

Make a paragraph or two regarding your personal meaning of Christmas, below the paragraph of the one who tagged you and you may put your name at the end of the paragraph linking back to your blog or right to the post of this particular tag. Then you tag as many as you can

Start copy here:

Christmas for me is the ultimate reminder on how much God loves us, that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior. For me, its a celebration of love and a time to share our blessings to others.. a time for giving and reaching out to the less fortunate and it's also a wonderful time to be with your family. Christmas is not just all about santa claus or the gifts that you will receive or for shopping, we should always remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and let us reflect on how much God loves us. - Just Let Go/Pieces of Me

Christmas is about giving love, forgiving. This remind us how lucky and how God love us when he gave us his only son Jesus Christ. A time for sharing our blessing to our family, friends and to others. - Celebrate Life/My Journey.

Christmas for me is not the new things that we have and enjoying the bounties in life but remembering that someone is born to redeem us from our sins and making sure of our salvation Teebob.

The true meaning of christmas for me is sharing, giving, expressing love to one another, and remebering that there is one person up there, who is born on the 25th of december to save us from everything . A lot of people told me that christmas is for kids. yes, it's true but I prefer to say that christmas is for everybody and sharing love to one another is the keyword remeber, "you can give without loving but you can't love without giving ". Alaverde33
Christmas is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The date of the celebration is traditional and is not considered to be his actual date of birth. Christmas festivities often combine the commemoration of Jesus birth with various secular customs, many of which have been influenced by earlier winter festivals. In most places around the world Christmas day happens on December 25. It's a special time of the year - a season of love and a season of giving. A time to share, to give and of course to receive a wonderful gift from beloved..Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

As the word Christmas itself convey, this day is the celebration of Christ. It's his day since this is the day we celebrate his birthday. Everything we do on this day should be in his honor...just like we get the honor when we celebrate our birthdays. So do what you normally do on this day but remember to give the honor to the celebrant himself, Christ. Juliana of Pinay Wahm and Teacher's Corner

Christmas for me is a time for selflessness. Its a time to reach out to family and friends in the spirit of peace and humility. Christmas is also for every child and the child in every grown up. More than receiving, its a wonderful thing to give this season. Giving doesn't have to be in the form of material things, but most importantly its the gift of time and unconditional love that counts. Indeed, Christ is the reason for this season.... - Abby of Mom And The City

Christmas for me is counting our blessings for the year that was and sharing every blessing we have to our loved ones. And most of all Christmas is for thanking Christ for giving us his only life. Christmas is beyond gift giving and more of love, forgiveness and prayers. - Something Purple

...and for all my blogging buddies mentioned above, I'm passing on this little christmas pup gift for you.  This pup so deserves a warm, cozy home and welcome.

A DETOUR.

  • Dec. 6th, 2007 at 4:53 PM
Due to insistent public demand for paidblogging, LOL! I made a detour HERE. If you're bored reading about my personal life in this site, you can direct yourself in my new detour blogsite. Although this site will still be my main blog, the detour site will be a totally different blog, a different approach. I made some cross-postings and will made more cross-postings for important entries, but basically THIS DETOUR will be more about good finds both in the net and mall shopping, my make-up passion what-have-yous, gadgets obsessions, awesome inventions and memes, tags and awards will all be posted there, and there will be no entry about my life and my family. Nothing really personal, all for the sake of making a blog with random discoveries. See you all there and don't leave me here as well. toodles!

Here they are Abie, I know I owe you 2 tags and 1 award.

******************************************************************************
First of The Treasuring-friendships-made-online Award/Tag, thanks for this abie! I know from the start I met you in the Canadian Embassy that I found a friend in you and I'm glad that we're still in touch, thanks to blogging. I've known her for more than 5 years now and I know our friendship is for keeps. Our friendship is definitely beyond online friendship. I'm looking forward to seeing you, howell and bela anytime soon! I'm passing this on to my new found friends in blogging, looking forward to getting to know you more in the days to come: jane (by the way parang likod ni sophie yung girl dito hahah!), jacqui, and weng.

Second the Question Tag:
What is the most memorable thing that your daughter/son has done for you?

A lot, really. Just by being him, that's memorable. But one thing that struck me the most is whenever I lost my patience on his mischievousness since we got here and yayaless, and after turning into HIS monster mom (LOL!), all he did was hug me tight and give me a tap on the back. That's really something! And everytime I lay down my hair he would caress it with his tiny little fingers, smile and look at me and say "hmmm bango mommy, ganda mommy", nothing else matters!

And now for my question, to my overseas blogging friends: Cata, Tin, Meeya, Weng, Joy and Ela. What was the hardest part in your immigration that made you want to go back to the Philippines?
